The Hatton Hotel

The Hatton is the benchmark for boutique hotels in Melbourne. It is intimate place with only 20 suites. Architect Geoffrey Borrack has done a brillant job turning this 1902 Italianate Mansion into a very stylish hotel. To quote Australian style magazine "Neutral walls, waxed floorboards, and vibrant splashes of colour created an ambience of tranquility, and cool sophistication." The large enamel baths are a treat. The beds and the linen are devine.

I love the location in leafy South Yarra. The tram stops at the front door. The botanic gardens and many excellent cafes and restaurants are only a short stroll.
The staff are fantastic and go out of their way to make you feel at home.
